Karmine Corp Reportedly Finalizes Majority Takeover of LEC Slot

Karmine Corp has moved to take majority control of the entity tied to its League of Legends EMEA Championship slot, increasing its stake in AK-GAME to over 50%.

The French organisation is reported to have acquired an additional 34.8% of AK-GAME SAS for €8.18 million, lifting its ownership from 17% to 51.8% and securing majority control for the first time since entering the LEC under its own brand. AK-GAME was formed following Karmine Corp’s acquisition of Astralis’ LEC slot ahead of the 2024 season.

Details Behind Karmine Corp’s Majority Takeover

The deal involved the transfer of just over nine million shares at roughly €0.90 per share, valuing AK-GAME at approximately €23.5 million, per RFTGG. That figure represents a modest discount compared to the slot’s original purchase price, reflecting broader market conditions rather than a shift in the slot’s strategic value.

As part of the transaction, Karmine Corp issued new shares to Astralis’ League of Legends entity, priced at €1,401.77 per share. While this increased the implied value of Astralis’ holding, it also resulted in the Danish organisation relinquishing majority control of AK-GAME.

Following the share swap, Astralis is now believed to hold around 25% of Karmine Corp itself, with that position valued at roughly €8.1 million. The remaining AK-GAME shares retained by Astralis may be sold at a later date under inflation-adjusted terms, either back to Karmine Corp or to other private investors.

How the €23.5M AK-GAME Valuation Was Reached

The transaction implies a post-money valuation of €32.1 million for Karmine Corp — a significant jump from the €20.2 million valuation set during its October 2023 funding round. The increase points to continued confidence in the organisation’s long-term brand strength, even after a financially difficult 2025.

There are indications that the deal has already been finalised, with recent updates appearing in the French Trade Registry under an older filing. However, some publicly accessible records have yet to fully reflect the latest changes.

Karmine Corp’s Competitive Position Heading Into LEC 2026

On the competitive side, Karmine Corp remains one of the most popular teams in the LEC and France’s domestic ecosystem, continuing to draw significant support across both leagues. Since its resurgence in Summer 2024, the team has consistently hovered around the top of the standings, narrowly missing out on Worlds qualification in 2025.

The organisation entered 2026 following several high-profile roster moves and has since made a strong start, topping the LEC Versus competition and finishing first in the regular split. Esports.net even spoke with Yike about the team’s progress. With momentum on its side, KC now looks well placed to challenge for the league title and secure qualification for First Stand, the season’s first international event.

That competitive success is likely to further reinforce the value Karmine Corp brings to the LEC, strengthening its influence as a franchise partner. The timing also coincides with the departure of co-founder Prime, who recently confirmed he had sold his stake back to the organisation — a move that does not alter the AK-GAME ownership structure, but adds context to KC’s growing consolidation around its LEC slot.
