Chelsea visit Championship side Hull City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.

Blues head coach Liam Rosenior will return to his former side for the tie, with the Englishman having managed the Tigers between 2022 and 2024.

Rosenior has enjoyed an impressive start to his tenure in west London, although his side drew 2-2 against relegation-threatened Leeds United in their last outing.

The Blues were relatively quiet during the recent January transfer window, although winger Raheem Sterling did depart the club by mutual consent.

Now, it has emerged that the England international has found himself a surprise new club.

Dutch side Feyenoord have signed the winger as a free agent, following his departure from Stamford Bridge last month.

The Eredivisie giants announced on Thursday that they had reached an agreement to sign the player for the remainder of the current campaign.

Sterling, 31, initially made a name for himself with Liverpool, before joining Manchester City back in 2015.

The Englishman enjoyed seven trophy-laden years at The Etihad, during which he scored 131 goals and provided 86 assists in 339 games for the Citizens across all competitions.

Sterling also won the Premier League four times during his spell in Manchester, but his career has somewhat stalled since he joined Chelsea in 2022.

The winger fell out of favour in the capital, and was sent on loan to rivals Arsenal for the 2024/25 campaign.

That loan spell didn’t prove too successful either, though, and Sterling returned to Stamford Bridge last summer and trained away from the first team squad before leaving Chelsea as a free agent in January.

Sterling – who has been capped 82 times by England – will play under former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie in Rotterdam.
