Bangkok, Thailand — The world’s largest martial arts organization, ONE Championship, returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium with another electrifying showcase at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II.

The stacked card delivered high-stakes world title action, statement finishes, and historic milestones in front of a global audience.

Hemetsberger Becomes Two-Sport ONE World Champion

In the main event, Austrian sensation Stella “Always Hungry” Hemetsberger etched her name into the history books, edging out Jackie Buntan via split decision to capture the ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title.

The tactical battle unfolded as a high-level chess match. Buntan pressed forward behind crisp boxing combinations, while Hemetsberger relied on distance control and punishing leg kicks to destabilize the Filipino-American striker’s base. The third and fourth rounds saw both women stand their ground, exchanging heavy shots in the center of the ring.

Entering the fifth and final round, the contest remained razor close. Buntan fired two head kicks and landed a sharp straight right in an effort to sway the judges. Hemetsberger responded with timely combinations and composed counterstriking to secure the split decision victory.

With the historic win, “Always Hungry” now stands as the undisputed queen of the strawweight division in both Muay Thai and kickboxing, becoming a two-sport ONE World Champion.

Nico Carrillo Claims Interim Gold In Instant Classic

The co-main event delivered another unforgettable battle as Scottish knockout artist “King of the North” Nico Carrillo captured the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship with a gritty unanimous decision win over Thailand’s Shadow Singha Mawynn.

The opening round saw both featherweights adopt patient and calculated approaches. Momentum shifted in the second stanza when Shadow staggered Carrillo with a thunderous left hook, then continued to apply pressure with diverse attacks through the third round.

Carrillo showcased his trademark toughness in a dramatic fourth frame, scoring a knockdown with a crisp right hand before unleashing heavy boxing combinations that left both fighters visibly fatigued heading into the final round.

Digging deep, Carrillo poured on relentless pressure in the fifth to seal the decision and make history as Scotland’s first ONE World Champion.
