Kingdom Come: Deliverance is finally getting a proper next-gen upgrade for consoles, and PC users will also benefit.

The Bohemian Middle Ages are back—and how! We have all the info on the big update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for you and reveal what PC knights can look forward to.

Oh, Henry! What are you doing back here? Didn’t you retire at the end of 2025 with a great final DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? And now this: Kingdom Come 1 is getting a next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S!

But there’s no reason to glare at your PC in discontent. Your home computer can also look forward to a few new features. We have all the info for you, so let’s get started!

What’s new for consoles

The NextGen upgrade brings the console version of Kingdom Come 1 up to the technical level of the PC version. So it won’t be any prettier than the PC version in the future, just… well, just as pretty.

In plain language, this means the following:

  • Native ports for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PS5 Pro that match the Ultra quality level of the PC.
  • Upscaling via AMD FSR
  • HD textures + support for 4K resolution
  • Up to 60 FPS on all consoles
  • Implementation of the Deep Silver account.

How much does it cost?

Starting on May 15, 2026, the Royal Edition will also be available as a physical version for consoles.

This is new for the PC

As already mentioned, the PC version is not left empty-handed either. Both the console and PC versions now support the following languages in conjunction with the NextGen upgrade:

  • Czech (voice output)
  • Japanese (voice output)
  • Turkish (menus + subtitles)
  • Ukrainian (menus + subtitles)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (menus + subtitles)

Furthermore, a new PC patch is scheduled to be released today, which will fix some of the remaining bugs. However, the patch notes are not yet available at this time.

So, now that you’ve been provided with so much information, we’re asking for something in return. Namely: Please write your opinion in the comments! We really want to know whether the prospect of a NextGen experience on consoles will motivate you to tackle Heinrich’s first solo adventure again (or for the first time?).
