Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off a dominant 57-run win as two debutant pacers turned the game completely, helping them beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) and break their winning streak in the IPL 2026 clash in Hyderabad on April 13.

While defending a strong total of 216/6, SRH saw Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain dismantle the RR batting line-up, as the Royals were bowled out for 159.

Hinge made an unforgettable start to his IPL career. The 24-year-old struck in the very first over, dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius for ducks, putting Rajasthan on the back foot immediately. Bowling with control and accuracy, Hinge continued to trouble the top order as he removed RR captain Riyan Parag (4). His brilliant effort earned him the Player of the Match award.

During the post-match presentation, Hinge reflected on his performance and said, “I had written somewhere that I would take 4–5 wickets on my debut.” He added, “I wanted to dominate the powerplay. I believe in it (manifestation). I started playing cricket at the age of 13. I didn’t know what leather-ball cricket was. I asked my father to enrol me in a club, but he said I was too young. Then he eventually took me there, and I kept playing after that. I want to dedicate this award to my family.”

Speaking about his wickets, he revealed that Sooryavanshi’sdismissal was his favourite“The Sooryavanshi wicket. I had told people that I would bowl a bouncer to him and get him out. I just wanted to get him out.

At the other end, Sakib Hussain complemented Hinge perfectly with an equally impressive spell. The 21-year-old pacer also picked up four wickets, including crucial breakthroughs in the middle overs. He removed the well-set Donovan Ferreira (69) and in-form opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (1). He later dismissed Jofra Archer (2) and Ravi Bishnoi (0) in his final over to complete his four-wicket haul. He conceded only 24 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 6.00.

Together, the two debutants shared eight wickets, completely derailing RR’s chase and sealing a memorable win for SRH.

SRH will next face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 18 in Hyderabad.
