Ex-WWE LFG Star BJ Ray Accuses CM Punk Of Calling Management On Him Over UFC Joke

BJ Ray didn’t hold back after seeing CM Punk make headlines again, and now he’s accusing Punk of going behind the scenes after an old jab about his UFC record.

The former WWE LFG competitor took to social media after CM Punk recently made headlines for naming himself the greatest heel of all time during an appearance on Complex’s GOAT Talk. While plenty of fans reacted to Punk’s comments, BJ Ray used the moment to bring up a story from earlier in his own career.

Ray claimed that after he joked about Punk’s UFC losses, someone from management reached out upset — and he strongly hinted that Punk was the one responsible.

“Lmaoooo in his wettest dreams. Early in my career I put up a tweet about him being 0-2 in UFC and someone called management upset about it. Wonder who called 👀”

That comment immediately shifted attention away from Punk’s original remarks and onto Ray’s accusation, especially because Punk’s 0–2 record in UFC has remained one of the most talked-about chapters of his career outside WWE.

Ray didn’t provide additional details about when the incident allegedly happened or which management team contacted him, but the wording made it clear he believes Punk played a role behind the scenes.

The accusation adds a new wrinkle to the conversation surrounding Punk’s legacy and reputation, particularly given how outspoken he has been throughout his career about authority figures and backstage politics.

Punk originally made headlines during the GOAT Talk segment when he reflected on how fan reactions have changed over time and why turning heel today might not work the way people think. During that discussion, Punk explained that fans now cheer him so heavily that even a heel turn might not get the reaction people expect.

“What’s so strange about that is everybody loves me now. You’ll be such a great villain that people wind up loving you. Fans at C2E2 came through the line, ‘You gotta turn heel. We need you to be a heel.’ The thing is, if I turn heel, it would make me an even more enormous babyface. They would still cheer.”

Ray’s accusation has now added fuel to the situation, especially as conversations continue online about Punk’s past, his legacy, and how he handles criticism. With Punk continuing to stay in the spotlight and figures like BJ Ray speaking up publicly, this situation may not cool off anytime soon.

Do you think BJ Ray’s claim about CM Punk calling management sounds believable, or is this just another shot taken online? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
