The full list of movers and shakers from across the Welsh rugby pyramid this season
Another eventful season in Welsh rugby is coming to a close, with the majority of winners and losers of the 2025/26 campaign now decided.
For several sides, it has been a hugely successful season, with many celebrating title wins and promotions and some even finishing the campaign unbeaten. However, as with any campaign, others have been left wondering what might have been, or even rueing missed opportunities after being unable to beat the drop.
To see how this season has panned out across for community teams across Wales, here’s our full list of movers and shakers from across the Welsh rugby pyramid for 2025/26.
Premiership
- Champions: TBC
- Relegated: Brecon RFC, TBC
There’s still all to play for in the community game’s top division, with some all-important matches still to be played and three teams involved in the title race.
Beddau currently lead the pack with 98 points, but they have just one game left to play next month. Merthyr are just behind them on 97 points with three games left to play, while Pontypridd still have a chance, albeit a slim one, as they sit in third on 91 points with two games remaining.
It’s just as close at the other end of the table. Brecon are down, but there is just one point separating Cardiff Met, Cross Keys and Narberth in the battle to avoid becoming the second team to be relegated from the Premiership.
Championship East
Champions: TBC
Relegated: Ynysddu RFC, TBC
Having lost just one game all season, Bedwas currently have a commanding lead in the Championship East, sitting in first place on 101 points with three matches left to play. However, they could still potentially be caught by second-placed Glamorgan Wanderers, who have 88 points but a game extra to play.
Ynysddu are down after finishing bottom of the pile on 22 points, but it remains to be seen who will join them out of Abertillery/ Blaenau Gwent and Rumney, with two points separating them with two and three matches left to play respectively.
Championship West
Champions: TBC
Relegated: Clwb Rygbi Crymych, Gorseinon RFC
Ammanford have completed their campaign and currently sit top of the table on 92 points, but they look set to be pipped to the title by Bonymaen RFC, who sit just one point behind them with two games left to play. Gorseinon and Clwb Rygbi Crymych are both down.
Division 1 East
Champions: Blaina RFC
Relegated: Abergavenny RFC
With 13 wins from 16 games this season, Blaina have taken the Division 1 East title, finishing three points ahead of Blackwood in second.
Abergavenny are down after finishing bottom. In January, Blaenavon RFC withdrew from the league with immediate effect and confirmed plans to drop down five tiers ahead of next year, having lost six of their first seven matches this season.
Division 1 East Central
Champions: Llanharan RFC
Relegated: Barry RFC, Rhydyfelin RFC
Llanharan have been crowned Division 1 East Central champions, beating Caerphilly to the title by just three points. At the other end of the table, Barry and Rhydyfelin finished in the relegation zone.
Division 1 North
Champions: Nant Conwy RFC
Relegated: Colwyn Bay RFC, Welshpool RFC
Nant Conwy blew away the competition this season to finish top of the Division 1 North table, losing just one game to end the campaign on 105 points, having also scored an incredible 1,149 points on the field of play.
Welshpool were hit with point deductions and finish the season on just two points, with Colwyn Bay also ending the campaign in the relegation zone.
Division 1 West
Champions: Burry Port RFC
Relegated: Laugharne RFC, Kidwelly RFC
Burry Port still have a game left to play but have wrapped up the Division 1 West title with 14 wins from 17 games this season, while Laugharne and Kidwelly finished in the bottom two.
Division 1 West Central
Champions: Abercrave RFC
Relegated: Vardre RFC, Maesteg Harlequins RFC
Abercrave cannot be caught heading into their final game of the season, which will see them face second-placed Builth Wells.
Maesteg Quins have been relegated after not winning a game all season, while Vardre narrowly missed out on survival as Skewen beat the drop by a single point.
Division 2 East
Champions: Rhymney RFC
Promoted: Abercarn RFC
Relegated: Senghenydd RFC
Rhymney and Abercarn were involved in a two-horse race as they left the rest of the league in their wake. While Rhymney narrowly clinched the title by three points, Abercarn are also going up in second, with 29 points currently separating them and third-placed Newport Saracens.
However, Senghenydd are down after not winning a single game all season and finishing with an overall points difference of -732.
Division 2 East Central
Champions: Wattstown RFC
Promoted: Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd RFC
Relegated: Taffs Well RFC, Rhiwbina RFC
After losing just one game all season, Wattstown claimed the Division 2 East Central crown ahead of CRCC RFC in second, while Taffs Well and Rhiwbina finished in the bottom two.
Division 2 North
Champions: Mold RFC
Promoted: Newtown RFC
Relegated: Machynlleth RFC, Denbigh RFC
An unbeaten season with 111 tries scored has seen Mold claim the title, with Newtown going up with them after finishing second. But it’s bad news for Machynlleth and Denbigh, with the latter finishing on just four points after a winless campaign.
Division 2 West
Champions: Carmarthen Athletic
Promoted: Aberaeron RFC
Relegated: Whitland RFC
Another team to win all 16 of their league fixtures this season, Carmarthen have been crowned Division 2 West champions, with their total of 78 points putting them currently 19 ahead of second-placed Aberaeron. At the other end, Whitland have finished bottom with a 25-16 victory over Penclawdd in January their only win of the season.
Division 2 West Central
Champions: Aberavon Quins RFC
Promoted: Neath Athletic RFC
Relegated: Bryncethin RFC
Aberavon have two games left to play this season but their current tally of 72 points means they won’t be caught by Neath, who will themselves finish in second on 70. Bryncethin, meanwhile, are down after winning two out of their 18 league matches.
Division 3 East
Champions: Gwernyfed RFC
Promoted: Nantyglo RFC
Relegated: Risca RFC
Gwernfyed have taken the crown with a game left to go, having won all of their 17 matches so far this season. They could complete their unbeaten season against Garndiffaith on Friday but, regardless, will finish at least 14 points ahead of second-placed Nantyglo.
With a single win to their name over the course of the campaign, however, Risca are down.
Division 3 East Central
Champions: Llantrisant RFC
Promoted: Llandaff RFC
Relegated: Canton RFC, Gilfach Goch RFC
A strong campaign has seen Llantrisant take the title, and it is set to be by the narrowest of margins with second-placed Llandaff having the opportunity this weekend to close the gap to just one point as they face bottom side Gilfach Goch – who have been relegated alongside Canton.
Division 3 North East
Champions: TBC
Two teams could still take the title in Division 3 North East, with Cobra Athletic currently in the lead on 53 points with two games left to play this season. However, while second-placed Mold can’t catch them, they could still be pipped to the title by Wrexham Athletic, who sit in third place on 45 points with three games still left to play.
Division 3 North West
Champions: Bangor RFC
After scoring 110 tries and losing just one game so far this season, Bangor have clinched the title with a game to spare, finishing ahead of the chasing Menai Bridge and Caernarfon.
Division 3 West
Champions/ Promoted: TBC
Relegated: Narberth Athletic
It’s tight at the top heading into the final round of fixtures in Division 3 West, with every team in the league having at least one game left to play. It looks set to be a straight shootout for the title between Haverfordwest and New Dock Stars, who are tied on 70 points, but the latter crucially has an extra game in hand to make a push for the crown.
However, it has been confirmed that Narberth Athletic have finished bottom, having won two of their 17 games so far this season.
Division 3 West Central
Champions: Cwmavon RFC
Promoted: Bryncoch RFC
Relegated: Nantymoel RFC, Baglan RFC
Cwmavon have finished top of the pile in Division 3 West Central, with Bryncoch pipping Resolven and Tonna to the second promotion spot. Nantymoel and Baglan, who were hit with a points deduction, finished in the bottom two.
Division 4 East
Champions: Deri RFC
Promoted: Whiteheads RFC
Relegated: Abertysswg Falcons
An impressive season for Deri saw them lose just one game, as they finished 11 points clear of Whiteheads in second. However, Abertysswg Falcons are down after winning just two of their 17 league fixtures so far this season.
Division 4 East Central
Champions: Pontyclun RFC
Promoted: TBC
Relegated: Llandaff North RFC
Pontyclun have wrapped up the title with two games still left to go, but it’s still all to play for in terms of promotion with four teams still able to finish second. As it stands, Pontycymer are going up, but they are currently just one point ahead of Tylorstown, three ahead of Ynysowen and four clear of Old Illtydians. However, Tylorstown have a game in hand to their promotion rivals.
At the other end of the table, Llandaff North are confirmed to be down, while Brackla and Ogmore Vale are set to battle it out to beat the drop. There is just one point between the two sides, who each have two games left to play.
Division 4 West Central
Champions: Maesteg RFC
Promoted: TBC
Relegated: Glais RFC, TBC
Maesteg’s league title victory was confirmed with a win over Bridgend Sports at the weekend, but they were denied the opportunity to lift the trophy due to a Welsh Rugby Union policy. Who will finish behind them in second remains to be seen, with four points separating Bonymaen Athletic and Cefn Cribbwr ahead of their final fixtures this weekend.
Glais RFC will finish the season bottom of the league, but whether they will be relegated alongside either Bridgend Sports or Crynant remains to be seen.
Division 4 West A
Champions: Pontyberem RFC
A remarkable unbeaten season has seen Pontyberem finish the campaign with a whopping 126 tries to their name, as well as a points difference of +688. They finished 26 points ahead of second-placed Newcastle Emlyn Athletic.
Division 4 West B
Champions: Llangadog RFC
Llangadog have wrapped up the Division 4 West B title with two games still left to play. Having won all 16 of their league games so far this season, they have a chance to make it an unbeaten campaign when they take on Pontyates and Cefneithin in the coming days.
Division 5 East
Champions: Bargoed RFC Athletic
Promoted: TBC
Despite having three games still left to play, the Division 5 East title will go to Bargoed RFC Athletic, who have scored a total of 637 points – including 95 tries – to win all 11 of their league fixtures so far this campaign. Blackwood Stars and Bettws are set to battle it out for second place.
Division 5 East Central
Champions: TBC
Promoted: Cardiff Met RFC Athletic, Brecon RFC Athletic
Relegated: Cardiff Saracens RFC, Treherbert RFC
Cardiff Met Athletic and Brecon Athletic have both ensured their promotion, but it remains to be seen who will finish top, with just one point separating the two sides, who each have two games left to play.
However, Cardiff Saracens and Treherbert’s place in the bottom two has already been confirmed.
Division 5 West Central
Champions: Cwmgwrach RFC
Promoted: TBC
Cwmgwrach have blown away the competition in Division 5 West Central, completing their campaign with just one defeat and an impressive points tally of 74. They are currently 25 points ahead of both second-placed Banwen, who have two games left to play, and third-placed Cwmtwrch, who have one remaining fixture to contest.
Division 6 East
Champions/ Promoted: TBC
With each of the league’s top three teams still having two games left to play, there is still all to play for in Division 6 East. Penallta Athletic currently lead the way on 53 points, but they are followed by second-placed New Tredegar on 48 and St Julians HSOB on 47.
Division 6 East Central
Champions: Beddau RFC Athletic
Promoted: Tondu RFC Athletic
Beddau Athletic have sealed the title with a game to spare, having won all 11 of their league matches so far this campaign. They can’t be caught by Tondu Athletic, who will finish second regardless of what happens in their final two games of the season.
