Interesting Name Was Present Backstage for April 28 WWE NXT

AJ Styles was backstage during the April 28 episode of WWE NXT and that reveal is now adding more value to what was already a major reset night for the brand.

The show itself felt like a full reset, stacked with debuts and returns. Lizzy Rain impressed many in her first match, EVIL showed up in a lights-out moment to confront Tony D’Angelo, while Kam Hendrix and Tristan Angels also made their debuts. On top of that, Sean Legacy returned to in-ring action, adding to the sense that NXT is shifting gears.

After the show, Legacy took to Instagram and posted a backstage photo with AJ Styles, confirming the former WWE Champion was present during the entire show. No on-screen cameo, no announcement: just Styles quietly watching everything unfold behind the curtain.

“Last night was Phenomenal @wwenxt”

Since stepping away from in-ring competition, AJ Styles has been working in talent scouting, and a night packed with new faces would be exactly the kind of show he’d be sent to evaluate.

WWE rolled out a lot of new talent, and had one of its most respected veterans backstage keeping an eye on all of it, and that’s not subtle. If this episode really was a reset, then Styles being there suggests WWE is taking a close look at who’s next before locking anything in.

Do you think AJ Styles being backstage for this NXT reset signals bigger changes coming, or was this just routine scouting behind the scenes? Sound off in the comments.
