Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight’s episode, Zaria is advertised to be there to follow up on her Last Woman Standing victory over Sol Ruca. This should likely mean a promo segment where it is possible someone interacts with her to start a new feud and direction for her.
In women’s division action, Kali Armstrong looks to prove herself as a newcomer to the roster by taking Jaida Parker down a peg, who immediately didn’t take to the way Armstrong was talking to the locker room. I’d assume Armstrong will get the victory as the fresh heel who could use the momentum boost, even though I could certainly imagine Parker getting the victory and attacked by Armstrong after the match or something along those lines. I think this will likely go beyond this match and be a feud for at least a few weeks.
Jackson Drake is up against Jasper Troy, who essentially just randomly took offense to Drake and The Vanity Project in a backstage segment last week, picking a fight and threatening the former WWE EVOLVE champion. The numbers game, especially if Myka Lockwood is there, will be too much for Troy, I’ll guess, and he’ll come up short, which helps build Drake up a bit more as an eventual contender for the NXT Championship or North American Championship, at least. Never fully trust that the heels just don’t win, though.
In the main event, Izzi Dame and Niko Vance are in mixed tag team action against a team that is very familiar in teaming with each other, as Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana are AAA mixed tag team champions together. That should give them the advantage, and if that’s the case, I kind of expect Mr. Iguana to get the pin over Niko Vance so that Dame can still get a future match against Vice without already doing that finish. Then again, the simplest way to build a challenger is for them to get a victory over the champion, so if the game plan is to run Izzi Dame getting a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship on an upcoming episode or special event, The Culling getting the win is the right way to go.
Here are your results for WWE NXT – May 5, 2026:
- Tony D’Angelo attacked Tavion Heights to start the show, jumping him at the Performance Center training area, setting up a match for later.
- Kali Armstrong defeated Jaida Parker by pinfall
- BirthRight will be booked in a six-man tag team match for next week, as revealed by Fit Finlay and William Regal, who are disappointed in how the faction keeps losing to people who should be beneath them.
- EVIL’s new ring name is Naraku, and he will have his in-ring debut next week, as revealed in a vignette about how he is coming for the NXT Championship.
- Jackson Drake defeated Jasper Troy by pinfall due to some help from Myka Lockwood.
- A vignette aired to continue to promote Tristan Angels as a newcomer to the brand.
- Zaria cut a promo in the ring about how she’s put Sol Ruca behind her and will now go after the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Tatum Paxley came out to say that she’s ended friendships and faced the devil to retain the title, so she’ll do the same against Zaria. Lizzy Rain came out to put her name in the hat for a title shot. Nikkita Lyons then did the same and said she isn’t done with Rain, going after her to spark a brawl that Zaria ended up standing tall in.
- The Vanity Project had a backstage segment with Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar, leading to Dar challenging Jackson Drake to a match for next week’s NXT.
- Tony D’Angelo was attacked by Kam Hendrix, moving that match against Tavion Heights to the main event instead of right then and there.
- Mixed Tag Team Match: The Culling (Izzi Dame and Niko Vance) defeated Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana by pinfall with Dame getting the three-count.
- Robert Stone told Tavion Heights that the match against Tony D is still on, and informed Zaria that she will team with Nikkita Lyons next week against Tatum Paxley and Lizzy Rain.
- Nattie called Jaida Parker soft after seeing her flip out in the women’s locker room over her loss to Kali Armstrong.
- DarkState’s Cutler James & Osiris Griffin defeated Hank Walker & Tank Ledger by pinfall.
- Tony D’Angelo defeated Tavion Heights by pinfall. Both were then attacked by the same unknown man from last week, who then said his name is Mason Rook.
