The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys completed a major trade a year ago involving Micah Parsons, with Green Bay sending two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark in return. Since the deal, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has actively reshaped the assets gained from that move, turning the Parsons trade into multiple roster additions and long-term pieces.
In a recent update, Stephen Jones commented on the trade involving Parsons, saying he believes the Cowboys ultimately won the deal.
“We feel really good about it. Obviously, much respect for Micah and what he stands for and how he plays and the caliber of player he is. At the same time, we feel good about what we’ve added via that trade,” Jones remarked via Pro Football Talk.

That said, nothing in the comment seemed intended as a direct slight toward Micah Parsons, but the star pass rusher will still be motivated to prove himself and potentially make the Cowboys regret moving on from him.
“You look at a guy like Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. They’re alpha players, who are not only great players on the field, but they’re leaders in the meeting rooms, how about they go about their business in the offseason. Just bring great leadership to this team,” the Cowboys co-owner continued.
The split between Parsons and the Cowboys did not end on good terms, with plenty of public exchanges following the trade. Jerry Jones might currently feel satisfied with how the deal has unfolded, but Parsons still has a chance to reshape that perception if he returns to peak form and helps the Green Bay Packers win a Super Bowl.
The 26-year-old is expected to begin the season on a limited workload as he works his way back from a torn ACL suffered late last year. It will be worth watching how he responds physically and whether the comments from Jones and other skeptics about his ability to return to full strength serve as added motivation for him to elevate his play in his second year with the Packers.
