The San Antonio Spurs will be looking to bounce back from a surprising loss in the series opener when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals on Wednesday night. Tipoff at the Frost Bank Center is set for 9:30 pm ET on ESPN. Minnesota is hoping to maintain momentum after prevailing 104-102 on Monday.
Let’s dive into my Timberwolves vs. Spurs Game 2 prediction.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs best bet: Under 217 (-110)
Game 1 was a low-scoring affair, largely thanks to Victor Wembanyama’s defense. The NBA Defensive Player of the Year is pretty much always dominant on that end of the floor, but he was particularly so in the series opener — blocking an absurd 12 shots. Yes, plenty of those were goaltending. But Wembanyama gets star treatment from the officials and there is no reason to think that will change in the near future — especially not at home. If goaltending isn’t called, a block is a block — and 12 blocks are 12 blocks. Getting defensive is nothing new for either team. Minnesota limited Denver to 98 points or fewer in three of the last four games in the first round. After ranking fourth in the West in scoring defense during the regular season, San Antonio gave up exactly 100.0 ppg to Portland in round one — three times keeping the Trail Blazers under the century mark.
At the other end, though, Wembanyama was far less effective on Monday. The 7’4” Frenchman went 0-for-8 from three-point range and scored just 11 points in total. He didn’t get much help, either. Nobody on the Spurs contributed more than 18 points and they shot 10-for-36 from deep overall. The Timberwolves also struggled offensively, and don’t forget that they are without Donte DiVincenzo due to a torn Achilles’. DiVincenzo averaged 12.2 ppg during the regular season and scored 15 and 16 points in his final two outings of his 2026-26 campaign before going down in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Nuggets.
The under is 4-1 in the Timberwolves’ last five games and 5-1 in the Spurs’ last six.
