Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is the sequel to developer Cold Iron Studios’ 2021 third-person co-op shooter, throwing us into a desperate battle against even deadlier swarms of Xenomorphs.. Aside from new types of aliens that threaten our squad of Colonial Marines and expanded teamplay, the sequel also introduces a fully customizable class that molds itself to different playstyles.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2’s exact release date hasn’t been locked in yet, but the co-op third-person shooter is aiming for a summer 2026 release window.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Gameplay

Gameplay-wise, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 increases the number of players that can join a squad from three to four.

Aside from altering the way we think about approaching each battle, this new dynamic is also complemented by “deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition.”

The sequel brings “new and improved classes” whose distinct abilities help us get the upper hand in battles when coordinated properly.

Interestingly enough, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 also adds the Specialist as “a fully customizable class” that can “mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class.”

The addition of new Xenomorphs means we’ll have to adapt our tactics accordingly. Thankfully, our arsenal isn’t lacking, ranging from stun batons to assault rifles, flamethrowers, and a variety of other deadly ranged weaponry and gadgets.

Its launch version also promises multiple Horde mode maps.

Going by its reveal trailer, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2’s story revolves around a rather familiar scenario, given the universe it’s set in. A colony on planet LV-558 has been overrun by Xenomorphs, and it’s up to our trusty squad of Colonial Marines to save the day.

  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will release on PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2’s price hasn’t been revealed thus far, but that should change over the coming months.
