Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for tonight’s episode, we’ll see the main roster debut of Ricky Saints, joining the blue brand in the latest round of call-ups from NXT. Saints wrapped up his time on the developmental side of things with this week’s loss on NXT to Shiloh Hill, doing the customary deed of losing on his way out. Unlike that loss, a debut means an almost sure bet for a victory. Of course, it isn’t a 100% certainty, as there are people like Karrion Kross who were unstoppable in NXT and still managed to lose their main roster debut, but the track record is there that he’ll likely be fed someone. Technically, he could debut without wrestling, but that’s also unlikely. As far as potential opponents go, I’d assume he’ll likely beat one of Matt Cardona, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Fenix, Fraxiom, or maybe Johnny Gargano, but it would be very interesting if he crossed paths with one of his good friends in Cody Rhodes. That would be a great means to put him over as a star to watch out for.
Another new addition to the roster, Jacy Jayne, will be in action against Charlotte Flair, who seeks to get some payback for how Fatal Influence not only attacked her and her partner Alexa Bliss, but ruined their opportunity to win back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. I’d expect Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid to get involved to either cost Jayne the match by disqualification just like last week’s match with Rhea Ripley, or to interfere and give Jayne the edge to squeak out a victory over The Queen.
How does Trick Williams respond to Sami Zayn attacking him from behind last week while dressed up as The Gingerbread Man? What’s next for The Miz, Kit Wilson, and Danhausen? Let’s find out!
Here are your results for WWE SmackDown – May 1, 2026:
- Cody Rhodes kicked off the show and was quickly interrupted by Ricky Saints, who tried to steal the spotlight. Rhodes has been medically cleared to compete, so he challenged Saints to wrestle tonight.
- Backstage, Rhea Ripley approached Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to say they should work together to oppose Fatal Influence. She’s willing to put their differences aside, but Flair isn’t, even though Bliss was on board.
- Jacy Jayne defeated Charlotte Flair by pinfall. Rhea Ripley helped Flair and Bliss fight off Fatal Influence after the match, leading to Flair giving Ripley a handshake.
- Brie Bella and Paige spoke about how they feel confident they can retain the tag team titles over Lash Legend and Nia Jax.
- Wepa Up spoke to Fraxiom backstage, with Damian Priest saying he looks forward to defending the tag titles against them tonight. He assumed that’s what R-Truth was talking to them about, but R-Truth was actually giving them tax advice.
- Kit Wilson tried to set up a trap for Danhausen with “free human monies”, only for Danhausen to take all the cash and the trap to backfire on Wilson and The Miz.
- WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Wepa Up (Damian Priest & R-Truth) retained the WWE Tag Team Championship over Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) by pinfall. Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa attacked both teams after the match. Following a commercial break, Sikoa then talked about Jacob Fatu destroying the MFTs last week, which he called a big mistake. The Usos came out to say that any issues Sikoa has with Fatu has to wait, as the Roman Reigns situation is more important, so Sikoa told Talla Tonga to beat them both down.
- Sami Zayn talked to Cody Rhodes backstage, saying they’re the same and the only two real good guys left. Rhodes said they aren’t the same.
- Cody Rhodes defeated Ricky Saints by pinfall and was then attacked by Gunther.
- The Miz teased aligning with Danhausen, only to then beat him up along with Kit Wilson.
- Royce Keys defeated Angel by pinfall.
- Tiffany Stratton wants to put the women’s US title on the line in an open challenge. Chelsea Green volunteered, as she can walk now and is out of the wheelchair. Kiana James and Giulia came over to try to get the title match instead. Stratton granted it, but to Kiana instead, saying she’s curious what she can do when she’s not being held back, which Giulia was annoyed about.
- Royce Keys and Jacob Fatu were attacked by Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa backstage.
- Sami Zayn cut a promo in the ring about how he hates the gingerbread man and Trick Williams. He low-blowed the gingerbread man and ripped the suit apart before running away from Williams, who came out ready for a fight.
- The Irresistible Forces had an interview with Byron Saxton about how they’re going to beat Brie Bella and Paige to win back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship titles tonight.
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Brie Bella & Paige (c) retained over The Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend & Nia Jax) by pinfall.
- Danhausen asked Nick Aldis for a match against The Miz, but instead, he’ll get a tag team match with a partner (if he can find one) against The Miz and Kit Wilson.
- Jacob Fatu ran in during the MFTs vs. Usos main event to attack Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa.
