The 2026 NFL Draft is over and teams are getting comfortable with their new draft picks. The next class of players is getting prepared now for another year of college football. Each position will be analyzed in the coming days. Here is the 2027 NFL Draft prospect watchlist: Cornerbacks.
Zabien Brown, Alabama Crimson Tide
Brown was a five-star recruit in the class of 2024, who signed with Alabama out of California. He played a bit early in his career with 18 total tackles, three interceptions and two passes defended. His role increased in 2025, as he had 39 total tackles, two interceptions and six passes defended. He helped Alabama make the CFP and win a game in 2025.
He has ok size at 6-foot and 194 pounds, but can add some play strength. Brown is a willing participant in run support and plays with that aggression in coverage as well. He has good speed and recovers well, making him good in man coverage. Brown uses his eyes well in zone coverage. His ball skills will need to improve and he can attack the catch point more aggressively. He can have better eye balance in zone coverage to be a more versatile corner.
OJ Frederique, Miami Hurricanes
As a three-star recruit in the class of 2023, Frederique decided to stay in-state to play for Miami. He played well right away with 30 total tackles, one interception and seven passes defended. In 2025, he had another good season with 19 total tackles and seven passes defended. He helped lead the Hurricanes to the National Championship Game.
At 6-foot and 185 pounds, Frederique has some work to do to fill out his frame. He is a good athlete with the ability to mirror receivers in man coverage. Frederique is a good tackler with nice ball skills. His run support could improve and he has some struggles against bigger receivers that he will need to work on.
Kelley Jones, Mississippi State Bulldogs
Jones was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023 who stayed in-state to play for Mississippi State. He didn’t play much in 2023, then tallied 29 total tackles and one pass defended in 2024. In 2025, he played even better with 34 total tackles, two interceptions and 11 passes defended. Although Mississippi State struggled, Jones was a bright spot.
He has great height and length for the position at 6-foot-4, but will need to add strength to his frame, as he is 195 pounds. Jones can play great press-man coverage and zone. He has solid speed and attacks the catch point well. Jones has some tighter hips and can have trouble mirroring wide receivers. Better footwork will help him with his movement skills.
Leonard Moore, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Moore was a four-star prospect who signed with Notre Dame out of Texas in the class of 2024. He had an immediate impact as a freshman with 48 total tackles, two interceptions and 11 passes defended. His play aided the Fighting Irish in making the National Championship Game in 2024. For the 2025 season, Moore helped Notre Dame get 10 victories with 31 total tackles, five interceptions and seven passes defended.
He has solid size for an NFL corner at 6-foot-2 and 197 pounds, but can add a bit more play strength. Moore has good ball skills, looking like a wide receiver at times. He has the ability to mirror in man coverage and has the ability to recover if he temporarily gives up some ground. His eye balance in zone coverage and his run support can improve, but Moore is a good bet to be the top corner in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Ellis Robinson, Georgia Bulldogs
As a five-star prospect in the class of 2024, Robinson signed with Georgia out of Florida. He didn’t play much as a freshman in 2024 and redshirted. In 2025, Robinson started, notching 20 total tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defended. He helped Georgia get to the CFP.
He will need to fill out his 6-foot and 180-pound frame for the next level, but Robinson plays physically for his size and helps against the run. Robinson is a good athlete who mirrors wide receivers well in man coverage and demonstrates good ball skills. Getting experience this season will be key, as he is just a one-year starter. He needs to work on his tackling to limit receivers run after the catch ability.
Other Draft Prospects
Ashton Hampton, Clemson Tigers
Hampton has had two productive seasons at Clemson, where he was able to make plays on the ball.
Jyaire Hill, Michigan Wolverines
Hill has played a lot of football for the Wolverines and plays an aggressive style of football.
DJ McKinney, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
McKinney has bounced around from Oklahoma State to Colorado and now to Notre Dame, where he is expected to play inside rather than outside.
Chris Peal, Syracuse Orange
Peal started his career at Georgia, then played last season at Syracuse, where he impressed with his seven passes defended.
Brice Pollock, Texas Tech Red Raiders
Pollock spent two seasons at Mississippi State before transferring to Texas Tech last season. He had five interceptions last year, showing his potential.
Jontez Williams, USC Trojans
