(MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN PRESS RELEASE)
Mammoth Mountain today announced a bold new vision for its iconic bike park. Developed with trail design firm Gravity Logic, the plan centers on progression and trail alignment, creating a more intuitive, legible experience for downhill riders of every ability level.
In 1987, Mammoth pioneered the idea that chairlifts weren’t just for skiers. That vision gave rise to an entirely new way of riding. Now, with lift-accessed bike parks thriving across North America and around the world, Mammoth is recommitting to the legacy it created. The plan focuses on modern trail development, a seamless progression experience, and a more focused trail system built to reflect the evolving demands of today’s mountain bikers.
The goal: affirm Mammoth’s place at the forefront of the sport it helped build.
“From the Kamikaze to the Reebok Eliminator, this park and the riders who shaped it are legendary in the sport” said Gabe Taylor, Bike Park Brand Manager. “This plan is about honoring that legacy while investing in the future, building a bike park that sets the standard for the next 40 years.”

What’s New for 2026
This season marks a significant milestone for Mammoth Bike Park, with a series of on-mountain improvements that riders will feel from their very first run.
For the first time this summer, Roller Coaster Express [4] will open for bike park operations, providing quicker access to some of the expansive trail system’s greatest hits. Connecting it all, a brand new trail from the top of Roller Coaster Express [4] to Main Lodge will give riders a fluid link between the two portals.
Upper Flow is a new trail that will help progression from other advanced trails to the lower sections of the Expert rated Flow (primarily the famous “Flow Drop”). The terrain in this area is perfect for drops and airs, making it a welcomed compliment to the rest of the trail. Also new this year will be a re-working of the classic Mammoth Bike Park jump line Pipeline. Capitalizing on trail speed and the lack of wind in the area, the build team will make the trail more rideable for a wider range of skill levels while still showcasing the flow riders have come to expect.
Together, these additions signal exactly where the Bike Park is headed: easier connectivity for more efficient access to vert, more progression, and a trail experience worthy of the mountain that started it all.

A Vision Built Around the Rider
At the heart of the reinvestment is a commitment to downhill riding as Mammoth Bike Park’s defining identity. The plan prioritizes modern, purpose-built descents from approachable green and blue flow trails for families and first-timers to technical black and double-black experiences for the resort’s most committed riders. Every trail will be designed and maintained with progression in mind, developing a natural pathway for riders to develop their skills.
The plan also places sustainability at the forefront. By refocusing the trail network around a concentrated, high-quality core, Mammoth will be able to deliver a better-maintained, more enjoyable experience while reducing the environmental footprint of the overall system.

Raising the Bar on Accessibility
Mammoth is equally committed to making the Bike Park more accessible and welcoming than ever. Investments in rental operations, instruction, and the overall guest experience will ensure that whether you’re a first-timer discovering the sport or a seasoned rider chasing laps on terrain you’ve ridden for decades, Mammoth has everything you need from the moment you arrive.

A Long-Term Commitment
The reinvestment reflects Mammoth’s broader belief that world-class mountain biking is a core part of the resort’s identity and its future. For a mountain that gave the sport its wings, that commitment runs deep. Implementation will be phased to minimize disruption to the guest experience, with meaningful improvements visible in the near term and transformative changes taking shape over the coming years.
