Strickland, in his post-fight interview, admitted that he went too far with the build-up, saying that he’s only at the top because of his many fans around the world.
In his post-fight press conference appearance, Strickland had the following to say.
Strickland on selling his UFC 328 fight
“I sell fights. I mean look at the UFC, how f***ing boring it is. Like really, the UFC is so f***ing boring, do you even know half the roster? Other than Alex, and Alex doesn’t even talk, he’s just big and scary. That guy just knocks everybody out. But other than Alex, it’s just f***ing boring, dude.”
“I don’t like to be threatened. Maybe it’s just who he is as a person, but when he was in the gym, he was really threatening, right? He just had that threatening demeanor. Maybe it’s the little man inside me, but when you threaten me, I wanna f***ing murder you, I wanna kill you. Maybe he didn’t take it that way.”
