Former 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings has signed a new one-year deal worth up to $13 million with the Minnesota Vikings.
Jennings’ arrival in Minnesota rounds out an already talented receiving group that boasts the likes of All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, whose fifth-year option was recently picked up.
The Vikings had a WR3 hole to fill after the departure of Jalen Nailor, who left Minnesota in free agency and inked a three-year, $35 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jennings had become a reliable target for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in recent years and is coming off a solid season despite dealing with injuries, hauling in 55 catches for 643 receiving yards and a career-high nine touchdowns.
The Vikings offense is stacked with talent across the board, but the real determining factor in both Jennings’ and the Vikings’ success will come from the impending quarterback battle between Kyler Murray and J. J. McCarthy.
