Footage Shows Unruly Fan Getting Kicked Out Of WWE SmackDown This Week

The pro wrestling world is full of wild stories, and sometimes the real action isn’t in the ring. You never know what kind of crowd will show up to an event, and that was very true during this week’s SmackDown.

A fan was reportedly thrown out of the latest episode of WWE SmackDown after causing a scene during the show. The moment happened while Ricky Saints was facing Matt Cardona.

Near the end of the Saints vs Cardona match, fans watching on television suddenly heard a loud “hey hey hey goodbye” chant break out across the arena. At first, some fans online thought the crowd was directing the chant at one of the wrestlers in the ring, especially because the timing lined up with the match’s closing moments.

That apparently was not what happened. Fans who attended the show later claimed the chant was actually aimed at an allegedly intoxicated audience member who was being escorted out by arena security after becoming disruptive in the crowd.

People sitting nearby reportedly started cheering once security arrived, and the goodbye chant spread through the section as the fan was removed. That “Hey Hey Goodbye” song is a fan favorite whenever someone is getting ejected, so it certainly came in handy.

Fan removals at WWE events are not the rarest event. Over the years, people have been kicked out for everything from being overly intoxicated to trying to jump barricades or confront wrestlers directly. One of the most famous incidents happened during WWE Hall of Fame 2022 when a fan tackled Bret Hart during his speech before immediately being swarmed by security and wrestlers backstage. Cash Wheeler punched that fan in the face a couple of times for his troubles.

We will have to see what happens next. WWE isn’t likely to call attention to this situation, but you never know what will come up in the creative meeting.

What’s your take on this fan getting thrown out during SmackDown? Do you think that was the right call? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
