Where Things Stand With Brock Lesnar and WWE After Alumni Section Move

Brock Lesnar may have left his boots in the ring at WrestleMania 42 — but WWE apparently still isn’t treating him like someone completely gone.

According to PWInsider, Lesnar is still internally listed by WWE as an active performer despite recently being moved into the alumni section of WWE.com. The report also noted that Lesnar remains classified internally as a “Free Agent” and has not been assigned to either Raw or SmackDown.

Following his loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, Lesnar left his gloves and boots in the middle of the ring while Paul Heyman watched emotionally from ringside. WWE later doubled down on the retirement presentation by airing tribute-style video packages across Raw and SmackDown while also moving Lesnar into the “forever” section of SmackDown’s intro video.

Paul Heyman later addressed the retirement during an interview with TMZ Sports and insisted he had absolutely no idea the moment was coming beforehand. When asked whether Lesnar’s retirement had secretly been planned in advance, Heyman completely shut down the idea.

“If I knew he was gonna retire, would I have gone on record saying he was gonna dominate for the next 15 years?? I was crying. Am I that good of an actor that I can cry on cue?? Not I.”

Even with WWE publicly presenting Lesnar’s WrestleMania exit as a farewell, this report changes the picture considerably. WWE continuing to list Lesnar internally as an active free agent leaves the possibility open for another return somewhere down the line.

Whether that means one final match or simply keeping options available remains unclear, but the door to another Brock Lesnar appearance in WWE definitely does not appear fully closed yet.

Do you think Brock Lesnar is actually retired, or will WWE eventually bring him back for one more run? Leave your thoughts and feedback below.
