Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods may not stay free agents for very long because it sounds like AEW already has a ton of people wanting them there.
According to Fightful Select, there is heavy belief within wrestling that All Elite Wrestling is the most likely landing spot for the former New Day stars following their WWE departure.
The report noted that Kingston and Woods — who also wrestles under the Austin Creed name outside WWE — already have convention appearances lined up, including GalaxyCon later this month, with additional appearances reportedly still set to be announced.
More interestingly,the support for bringing the duo into AEW is apparently overwhelming internally. According to the report, every AEW source they spoke to was fully on board with the idea of signing them. It was also noted that several major names inside AEW have already been pushing for Kingston and Woods to end up in the company.
The report added that despite spending their entire careers in WWE, both men are widely respected throughout the wrestling industry across multiple promotions. At this point, many people within wrestling expect AEW to eventually be the destination for the former WWE tag team stars.
Of course, neither Kingston nor Woods has officially announced what comes next yet, but the idea of The New Day veterans showing up in AEW is already becoming one of wrestling’s biggest talking points.
