- Pimax is attending SimRacing Expo Charlotte
- The firm’s Dream Air SE will make its North American debut
VR specialist Pimax will attend this year’s SimRacing Expo Charlotte and bring its new lightweight Dream Air SE headset for patrons to try.
The Dream Air SE is said to be the firm’s most accessible high-end VR headset yet, featuring a similar lightweight chassis to Pimax’s flagship Dream Air but at a greatly reduced cost.
With 2560×2560 resolution per eye, micro LED technology and support for 72 Hz and 90 Hz refresh rates, the SE should be more than capable of reproducing quality graphics, and all from a headset that weighs less than 140g.
Prices start at $899 and include integrated audio and eye tracking, with an additional version that includes SLAM tracking (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) and controllers, also available at a higher price point. The Dream Air SE is available to pre-order now.
Pimax is also notable for helping Le Mans Ultimate custodian Motorsport Games out of financial difficulties in 2025, with hopes high that the sim’s VR performance will benefit from the Chinese firm’s expertise.
