Hundreds of young athletes were in action over the weekend at the 4J District Champs.

The event has changed format this year with District competition for young athletes in the U16, U14 and U12 age groups with older age groups given an opportunity at the 4J National Opener.

Two venues were involved as Aberdeen hosted the North and East events (because of redevelopment work at the facility in Inverness) and at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock for the West event.

Good to see at that West Districts event there was support from Joseph and Lidya from our Young People’s Forum as they helped with announcing, officiating and presentations.

Thank you to all athletes (and parents, coaches and clubs) who competed with a different medal programme for U14s and with U12 teams qualifying for our SUPERteams National final.

Thank you to our venue hosts at Aberdeen and Kilmarnock for their hard work over a long weekend to help us deliver the 4J District Champs.

And Thank You in particular to our qualified scottishathletics Officials for their support (once again) in making events happen.
