Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith Jr. was arrested Friday on suspicion of speeding and reckless driving in Georgia, the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The Athletic on Wednesday.

In April, the Eagles exercised the fifth-year option for Smith, who has been with the franchise since Philadelphia selected the Georgia player in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 25-year-old has recorded 10 1/2 sacks over his three seasons with the Eagles. The most productive season came in 2024, when he finished the regular season with 6 1/2 sacks and collected another four during Philadelphia’s playoff run, which ended with a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Smith won two national championships with the Bulldogs.
