Garmin drops Rally power pedal prices by over $600

Garmin drops Rally power pedal prices by over 0

Prices in the world of bikes, and the great big world outside of bikes, only seem to go up, lately. Garmin is going the other way. it’s dropped prices across the board on its Rally range of road, gravel and XC power pedals. For the double sided sets, that’s over $600 off the previous price.

Interchangeable and more affordable: Rally mixes it up

With the latest generation of Garmin’s Rally pedals, the 110/210 series, the pedal-based power meters get much more streamlined, both externally and internally. For the gravel and XC crowd, the new pedal body is significantly slimmer with a shorter stack height and tougher pedal body. The road crowd retains compatibility with Look Keo and Shimano SPD-SL cleats.

Garmin moved the rally to a rechargeable design instead of the old battery design. A welcome change

Most significantly, though, switching between pedal bodies is now extremely easy. A pedal body can be swapped out, between XC and Look or Shimano SPD-SL and, well, whichever one you want it to replace it with, in under a minute. That’s because Garmin moved to a rechargeable design, replacing the tiny batteries that used to hide in the end of a Rally 200/100-series pedal and moving all electronics into the axle spindle.

Now, Garmin is also dropping the prices on its Rally series pedals. The price changes are substantial. For the Rally 210 options, pricing goes from $1,739.99/1,889.99 down to just $1,259.99. Still not cheap, but over $600 less. The Rally XC pedal bodies are also now the same price as the RS and RK options when purchased as part of a set.

A simpler design and a wise move from 4mm to 5mm for the axle bolts

For single-sided, Rally 110’s, the prices drops below $1,000. Pedal rebuild kits are halved in price, going from $280 to $140 per side for the RK and RS pedal body rebuild kits. Rally XC pedal rebuild kits remain slightly more expensive, at $180 per side. Rebuild kits are sold individually, so you can replace a single damaged pedal body without having to pay for both, or as pairs of pedal body conversion kits.
