Alex Pereira has revealed one possible setback for him as he prepares to move up to the heavyweight division in the UFC.
Alex Pereira has already established himself as a legend in mixed martial arts. Despite his seemingly short tenure in the sport, he has done some incredible things throughout his tenure in the UFC. Now, he looks set to push for a third weight class world title when he moves up to heavyweight to battle Ciryl Gane.

The two will meet at UFC Freedom 250, and while a lot of people believe Pereira stands a great chance, Gane did look good against Tom Aspinall in his last fight before a double eye-poke that probably should have led to a disqualification.
In a recent interview, Pereira had the following to say about his heavyweight adventure.
Pereira discusses heavyweight switch
“In terms of going for heavyweight, it’s nice because no restrictions,” Pereira told MMA Junkie.
“I’ve been eating clean and eating good. It’s been fun. In terms of performance, I feel the exact same.”
“Obviously it’s not possible to bulk up to a much higher weight class, bigger, and not lose maybe a little bit of speed,” he added.
“We’ll see in the fight. But I feel the exact same. I just added, but didn’t lose anything.”

Regardless of what he may or may not lose, this is still an incredibly winnable fight for Poatan. While he wouldn’t be the undisputed champion if he gets his hand raised, he could definitely go down in history as the first man to win some form of gold in three weight classes – and that counts for a lot in the record books.
