Last offseason, the Packers made one of the more bombastic moves of any team across the league, flipping two first-round picks for All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons.
While this year’s offseason for Green Bay may be more defined by some of the marquee departures, such as wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks or edge rusher Rashan Gary and linebacker Quay Walker, the defining move for the Packers may be maintaining continuity with head coach Matt LaFleur.
“The one they didn’t make,” ESPN writes, of the Packers’ defining move of the offseason. “Despite another early playoff exit, there was no head coaching change. LaFleur not only was retained but received a contract extension that was believed to add three years to the remaining one year he had on his old deal. Perhaps it will give LaFleur the security he sought, but it also will ramp up the expectations for him to take this team on a deep playoff run.”
Even though the Packers suffered an early exit in each of the past two NFC Wild Card rounds, Green Bay remained committed to LaFLeur this offseason, and in 2026, his ability to guide this roster much further could determine just how long he’ll remain a mainstay on the sideline at Lambeau Field.
