Rapper Ray J hospitalized with heart, head issues 3 days after Johnny Manziel vs. Bob Menery card KO

Rapper Ray J has been in a hospital bed for three days and counting after a brutal knockout at the UFC Apex last weekend.

Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., is suffering from serious health issues three days removed from a brutal knockout loss on the Johnny Manziel vs. Bob Menery MMA card last weekend at the UFC Apex.

Norwood and rapper/comedian Supa Hot Fire fought in their MMA debuts last Saturday at influencer Adin Ross’ Brand Risk MMA event. Barely any punches were thrown through Round 1, before Supa Hot Fire caught Norwood with a brutal punch up against the ropes, sending Norwood unconscious.

It was a scary knockout at the UFC Apex with UFC CEO Dana White sitting ringside. Just two hours after the event, Norwood checked himself into a Las Vegas-area hospital after showing concussion symptoms at the venue.

But it turns out Norwood’s condition might be worse than first revealed.

As reported by TMZ, Norwood is undergoing tests on his heart and head after his heart rate was slower than normal. Norwood was hospitalized with heart issues and a bout of Pneumonia earlier this year before making his MMA debut.

As of this writing, Norwood remains under medical care and is in stable condition, but it’s a scary aftermath from one of the most polarizing MMA events of the year.

To make matters worse, TMZ is also reporting that Brand Risk Promotions launched an investigation into the bout amidst allegations of fight fixing. In his post-fight interview, Norwood was audibly heard saying ‘I thought we had a plan!’ to Supa Hot Fire following the stoppage.

In the main event, Manziel finished Menery by TKO in the former College Football star’s MMA debut.
