Tottenham Hotspur will remain in the Premier League next season after avoiding relegation courtesy of a 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday.
The Lilywhites have endured a dismal campaign – during which they have sacked both Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor – but narrowly avoided the drop after Roberto De Zerbi took charge.
Spurs have now finished 17th in the Premier League in each of the past two campaigns, and De Zerbi will be expected to oversee huge improvement next term.
Ahead of next season, it has emerged that the Italian’s squad will be bolstered by the signing of a hugely experienced defender.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement to sign left-back Andy Robertson following the Scot’s departure from Liverpool.

Robertson, 32, made his 378th and final appearance for the Reds during their 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday, ending a hugely successful nine-year spell at Anfield.
This season, Robertson featured 36 times across all competitions, including 24 Premier League games.
The Scot had previously been linked with a move to north London, and Romano reveals that De Zerbi was keen to add the experienced left-back to his squad.
Romano also claims that Robertson will soon sign with the Lilywhites despite Italian side Juventus attempting to hijack the move and lure the Scotland international to Turin.
Robertson – who will be part of the Scotland squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America – has played 275 times in the Premier League.
He has also lifted no fewer than nine trophies during his time on Merseyside, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
