Rolando Romero didn’t mince his words when discussing a possible clash between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn later this year.
Romero cast doubt over Garcia vs Benn being signed despite the American claiming the fight was sealed.
Recently appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, ‘King Ry’ claimed he had signed to fight the Brit on September 12 in what would be the first defence of his WBC welterweight title.
He won the belt in his last outing against Mario Barrios, dropping him in the first round before cruising to a unanimous decision victory.
Over the past 12 months, Garcia has been linked with several fights, including Benn, a rematch with Devin Haney and an immediate second fight with Romero himself.
‘Rolly’ outpointed Garcia back in May last year and spoke to Pro Boxing Fans on behalf of CampoBet and Betinia about the 27-year-old steering away from a rematch.
“Ryan Garcia is the dude that calls out everybody and does nothing.
“How many people has Ryan Garcia called out in the last year?
“One guy he hasn’t called out is me because he knows I’ll actually go beat him up.”
He also did not hold back when discussing Garcia’s claim of a September 12th return and labelled him one of the worst individuals in the sport.

“Ryan Garcia is amongst the worst.
“Do you believe the dude that literally fought a beyond weight-drained, burnt out Barrios?
“Are you going to believe the dude that claims he never took steroids?
“All the boxing world is very incredible, but Ryan is amongst the worst.”
Romero then provided his prediction for how a possible fight between the pair would play out and gave ‘The Destroyer’ little chance of dethroning Garcia.

“Do I believe Ryan Garcia truly wants to fight Conor Benn and dislocate his jaw because Conor Benn is the easiest fighter in boxing? Yes.”
“Anyone would take the free meat.”
Romero has been out of the ring for over 12 months and also opened up on a fight that fell through between himself and Benn.
He claimed the bout was set to take place on May 30th, where he would have defended his WBA title for the first time.
“Conor was saying he was going to fight me.
“We had the whole deal set up for May 30th.
“We had already had the deal done.
“The dude’s a fan of me. He sends me selfies when he’s bored.
“He’s doing what he has to do. He has to provide for his family.”
