Curaçao Neptunus secured first place in its group on the second day of the Baseball Champions League (BCL) Europe in front of a home crowd in the Familiestadion. Earlier in the day, Tenerife Marlins eliminated Nettuno 1945 and will face Heidenheim Heideköpfe for the right to advance to the BCL semifinals.

Juan Carlos Sulbaran spurred on Neptunus Rotterdam to the first shutout win of the Baseball Champions League Europe with seven four-hit innings, back by a solid defence and three hits apiece from Marnix Ruben and former Royals’ minor leaguer Darryl Collins. [Game Wrap]
Tenerife 16 – Nettuno 6
Tenerife celebrated its first Champions League win at the end of a slugfest. The two teams combined for half a dozen roundtrippers, with Ian Péres (Tenerife) and Eliezer d’Amico (Nettuno) hitting a pair apiece. Whilst the Marlins finsihed with a 10-run advantage, the game was tied at four through four innings. Péres knocked in a whopping six runs, while d’Amico drove was responsible for four of his team’s six markers. Pablo Guillén went the distance for the victors, striking out 11. [Game Wrap]
