Danhausen Gives John Cena’s Five Knuckle Shuffle a Cursed Twist at WWE Live Event

Danhausen just brought a very cursed version of John Cena’s greatest hits to a WWE live event, as he hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on the Miz.

During WWE’s May 28, 2026 live event in Liverpool, Danhausen faced The Miz, and WWE later uploaded a clip from the match on Twitter. In the video, Danhausen paid tribute to John Cena by hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but he added his own twist before dropping the forearm: “You Are Cursed.”

WWE leaned into the Cena reference with its caption, tagging John Cena while giving the moment a very Danhausen-style name: “You Can’t Seehausen @DanhausenAD ! 👋 CC: @JohnCena” Danhausen then responded on Twitter with his own play on Cena’s famous line: “You Can’t Curse Me”

The moment comes as Danhausen’s WWE crossover push continues growing across live events, TV, ESPN, and other platforms. Since debuting at Elimination Chamber, he has become one of WWE’s top merchandise movers, appeared at WrestleMania, and signed with Adventure Media for management representation across film, television, digital media, publishing, and other business opportunities.

Matt Hardy recently defended WWE’s use of Danhausen on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, saying the company should take advantage of the momentum while it is there. Hardy also said WWE is smart not to overuse Danhausen in the ring and should keep presenting him as a special attraction.

“You’ve got to get it while it’s hot, man. So yeah—it’s okay, especially with the crossover stuff. That’s exactly what you want a character like that to do, especially someone who is so gimmicky like Danhausen. And I’m super happy for him that he’s succeeding so much. I mean, who knows how long his run is, but the most important thing is that they’re not burning him out in the ring—forcing him to wrestle over and over. He’s an attraction. He’s a novelty, and you use him as such.”

Danhausen’s Cena tribute in Liverpool shows WWE is still finding easy ways to plug him into fun moments without overcomplicating the act. The gimmick works because it travels well, and “You Can’t Seehausen” is exactly the kind of crossover bit that keeps him visible without needing a major storyline every week.

Do you think WWE should keep using Danhausen in comedy crossover moments like this, or should they start building him into a bigger in-ring storyline? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
