Ernest Nuamah: I can’t wait to give it my all at the World Cup – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ernest Nuamah has set his sights firmly on the 2026 FIFA World Cup as he continues his comeback with the Black Stars after recovering from a long-term ACL injury.

The Olympique Lyonnais winger has been included in Ghana’s provisional 28-man squad currently training in Cardiff under head coach Carlos Queiroz, marking a significant step in his return to international football.

Nuamah, who missed over a year of action due to injury, successfully completed rehabilitation with Lyon and earned his recall after proving his fitness at club level.

He has since joined the squad at Dragon Park on May 25, 2026, taking part in training as Ghana prepare for their final squad assessment ahead of the friendly against Wales on June 2 at Cardiff City Stadium.

The Black Stars will trim the group to 26 players before the match, which serves as the last major test before heading to North America for the tournament, where Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.

For Nuamah, the opportunity represents the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.

“It has always been a dream to wear the national team jersey and going to the world biggest stage of football, which is World Cup. I can’t just wait to give it all. This has been my dream since I was a kid. And now this is the moment.”
