Following a lengthy search, the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with Nolan Teasley to be their new general manager, multiple league sources confirmed to The Athletic.

The Seattle Seahawks assistant general manager will take the reins from longtime Vikings executive Rob Brzezinski, who has held the interim position since January.

The Vikings used search firm TurnkeyZRG to screen candidates, and then the team began two interview phases. First, members of the ownership group, chief operating officer Andrew Miller and head coach Kevin O’Connell interviewed candidates virtually. Then, five finalists flew to Eagan, Minn., for in-person interviews.

Teasley worked his way up from a scouting internship in Seattle in 2013, helping GM John Schneider build a few powerhouse rosters without ever fully tearing down. He spent the past four seasons as the Seahawks’ assistant general manager, culminating with a Super Bowl victory this past season over the New England Patriots.

Teasley will likely spend the coming weeks and months evaluating the various areas of the front office. He will immediately bring an outside perspective to the franchise after his 14 seasons with the Seahawks organization. Developing a relationship with the coaching staff will be his first order of business. After the firing of previous GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, ownership stressed the importance of alignment between the coaching staff and front office.

The Vikings have not won a playoff game since 2019 and have not reached the NFC Championship Game since 2017. After the 2021 season, the Vikings fired GM Rick Spielman and replaced him with Adofo-Mensah, an outside-the-box hire whose teams went 43-25 in four seasons. But draft misses, a quarterback conundrum and, most importantly, tension between him and key members of the coaching staff forced ownership’s hand.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
