It’s unclear when New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers will return from injury. He appeared in just four games last season after tearing his ACL on Sept. 28 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
After undergoing surgery a month later on Oct. 28, there’s hope he will be ready when the Giants begin the 2026 season. New York faces the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 on “Sunday Night Football.”
However, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, head coach John Harbaugh said. “Just impossible to predict. I mean, the goal is to start the season and get out there sometime in training camp. That’d be the goal, and we’ll see what happens.”

With uncertainty, though, the team has made several changes to their wide receiver group, including bringing back a franchise icon. On Monday, Odell Beckham Jr. announced that he is returning to the Giants.
“Nothin was ever given to me I worked for everything I have,” Beckham wrote via an Instagram post. “Never give up on urself. Home Team i’m back…. Let’s get itttt.”
The post quickly caught the attention of fans and players alike, including Nabers, who commented, “Surpriseeeeeee.”
Originally a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham returns to the Giants for the first time since 2018. In his five years with the team, he accumulated 390 receptions, 5,476 yards, 44 touchdowns and three Pro Bowl appearances.
His production has taken a major dip, though. In 2023 and 2024, he appeared in just 23 games, recording 44 receptions for 620 yards and three touchdowns. At 33 years old, the two-time Second-Team All-Pro selection has not recorded a 1,000-yard season since 2019.
However, a return has been hinted at before. On March 26, Nabers commented, “Let’s play together!” under another one of Beckham’s Instagram posts.
