Ahmed Johnson Claims WWE Locker Room Jealousy Followed His Main Event Push

Ahmed Johnson made one of the most controversial claims of his Inside The Ropes interview when discussing his relationship with fellow members of the Nation of Domination.

While reflecting on his WWE run, Ahmed was asked whether there was tension between him and other wrestlers during that era. His answer left little room for interpretation.

According to Ahmed, many of his peers were unhappy with the opportunities he received because he was positioned as a potential history-making star in WWE.

“Yeah, I told you. I got the sense that all of them were jealous of me. Let me be honest with you. All the black guys were very jealous of me because they wanted that chance to be the first African-American in history to win the belt. But Vince gave it to me and the African-American guys were very jealous of me, man.”

Ahmed did, however, point to one exception. He praised Savio Vega and credited him for helping him improve during a period when he was still developing as a performer.

“The only person in the Nation that I could say was not jealous of me was Savio Vega. And Savio Vega tried to help me through the matches. He knew I was green and he stepped up and tried to give me a hand and I appreciate that.”

The comments are likely to spark discussion among wrestling fans, especially considering the number of respected veterans Ahmed referenced while discussing his time in the faction.

Ahmed has never been shy about sharing his opinions on his WWE career, and this latest interview added another chapter to that history.

More than two decades later, Ahmed Johnson still believes his push created resentment among some of the people around him, and he isn’t afraid to say it publicly.

Do you agree with Ahmed Johnson’s assessment of the situation, or do you think he’s looking at that era differently now than those who were around him? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
