Tottenham believe £60m star wants to sign for them

Tottenham Hotspur’s negotiations to sign an “incredible” £60m star are now advancing, and there is a belief he is keen on the move, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Lewis family pledge to make major changes at Tottenham this summer

In a recent letter to the supporters, the Lewis family have pledged to make some key changes this summer, off the back of Tottenham finishing 17th in the Premier League table two years in a row.

“Our ambition is to recapture the spirit of the club and bring back the excitement, the fearlessness and the bold football we have always felt defined us. That means football comes first. The Board and Executive team have laid out their plans to meet this ambition.

“This will require investment — in our teams, the academy, our backroom functions and more — and we are fully committed to this. We are not selling the club. We are all in. We are investing in it. You will see more of this in the coming months.

“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding the club needs, and you deserve, has begun. The change required is deep. It will take time and commitment, but change is happening.”

Work is already underway, with Spurs setting out to strengthen their defence, and they are closing in on deals for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and AFC Bournemouth’s Marco Senesi, as both players’ current contracts are set to expire this summer.

Savinho has also been identified as a target, with the winger, who is valued at £60m, receiving limited game time at Manchester City throughout the 2025-26 season, and there has now been a fresh update on the north Londoners’ pursuit.

Tottenham advancing negotiations to sign Savinho

In a recent X post, Romano revealed Tottenham are locked in talks to sign the Brazilian, and there is a belief he is keen on a move to north London.

The transfer expert said: “Negotiations ongoing for Savinho to Tottenham as revealed two weeks ago… and progressing well. #THFC believe Savinho wants the move, talks continue as Man City could open doors to his exit in case of good proposal. Deal on.”

Although Pep Guardiola was unwilling to give the 22-year-old regular minutes last season, he has been left impressed by his performances in the past, saying after a 2-0 victory against Leicester City in the 2024-25 campaign: “I’m very happy with Savinho. An incredible ability and quality that he can prove”.

“I’m really, really pleased for him; for the game, the goal, the assist because playing on the left, you can make that cross… very happy”.

The 13-cap Brazil international has seven goals and 16 assists to his name in 84 appearances for City, but wasn’t selected in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

As such, if Savinho’s career is to truly take off, he may have to move to a club where consistent game time is more of a guarantee, and a move to Spurs could be ideal.
