Snowrunner makes surprise Switch 2 debut
  • Snowrunner makes a surprise Switch 2 bow today (9th June, 2026)
  • Will feature crossplay across Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions of the game

A Nintendo Switch 2 version of Snowrunner is available to buy now, with the surprise release announcement coming during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

The 2020 game, which has surpassed 20 million players worldwide, consistently boasts huge player numbers, with regular DLC maps and vehicle packs – including official Mercedes-Benz trucks – keeping gameplay fresh.

The title is also boosted by a burgeoning modding scene, with players able to download approved custom content.

The Switch 2 port will run at 30 fps in dynamic 1440p docked mode and 1080p in handheld mode, and will feature four-player cooperative online play and crossplay with Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions (note: crossplay will be unlocked when Season 18 of Snowrunner begins at the end of the month).

Although updates ceased for Snowrunner on the original Switch console late last year, those who owned the digital edition of the game will be entitled to a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version, with game saves and DLC also transferable. Physical editions of the Switch versions will not be eligible for a free upgrade, however.

Snowrunner is out now on Switch 2 for £34.99.
