We have some more independent frame builder news. It’s been announced that this June is the Caletti Framebuilder Summit. The Summit brings together experienced and aspiring bicycle framebuilders from June 26-29 in Santa Cruz, California.
The event is meant to focus on knowledge sharing, with veteran builders like John Caletti passing along practical skills and business insights. The aim is to help newer framebuilders develop their craft and maintain sustainable operations.
I love seeing people rally to support small cottage industries. Whether it’s bike bags, bike components, or indie framebuilders, it’s great to see people lining up to support these small businesses. Recently, we ran a story about the East Coast celebrating the independent framebuilder with the launch of the Crafted Bike Show. It’s cool to see.
Help the Cause
To support the event and make it accessible to more builders, organizers are running a fundraising raffle with prizes donated by cycling brands that support the handmade community.
Participants can enter the drawing with a suggested $10 donation. All proceeds will be going toward reducing attendance costs for builders and funding the following year’s summit. The prize package allows winners to choose any color, size, or product configuration from participating brands’ current inventory.
