Possible Date for CM Punk’s Return Amid WWE TV Hiatus

CM Punk’s WWE return may not be far away after all, as the Second City Saint could be returning as soon as next month.

For weeks, fans have speculated about Punk’s absence from WWE television, with theories ranging from creative issues to backstage problems. However, recent reports have consistently pushed back on those rumors, with WrestleVotes previously stating that WWE absolutely has plans for Punk and that his time away was simply a well-earned break following his WrestleMania 42 main event run.

Now, a new update suggests that WWE may already have a target window for his return. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, several WWE sources expect Punk to be back on WWE television as soon as July.

One source indicated that signs point toward Punk returning on or before the July 6 episode of Monday Night RAW, which will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. However, the report stressed that the date has not been officially confirmed.

The potential timing makes sense given Punk’s connection to Chicago, which has long been one of the most supportive markets of his career. A return in his hometown would likely lead to one of the loudest reactions of the year and immediately place him back into a major storyline heading into SummerSlam season.

This latest report also lines up with previous comments from WrestleVotes, who recently dismissed claims that WWE had no creative plans for Punk: “No, not true. Don’t know where that came from.” WrestleVotes previously added that Punk was simply receiving time off after an intense stretch at the top of the card.

“It’s a well-deserved rest for a guy who’s been going, outside of injury, for three straight years. Just main evented WrestleMania—get a little time off. He’ll be back in no time, right back at the top of the card. It is not true they have no plans for CM Punk.”

Punk has not appeared on WWE programming since the April 20 episode of RAW, and his absence from televised events, premium live events, and WWE’s recent international tour only fueled speculation about his status. However, if these latest reports are accurate, fans may not have to wait much longer before seeing the Second City Saint back on Monday nights.

While nothing has been officially announced by WWE, the expectation among multiple sources appears to be that Punk’s return is drawing closer, with early July emerging as the most likely timeframe. And if that return does happen in Chicago, it could become one of the most memorable moments of WWE’s summer.

Do you think CM Punk will return on the July 6 episode of RAW in Chicago? What storyline would you like to see him involved in when he comes back? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
