Chelsea Green says her relationship with Michael Hayes is in a much better place now, and she gave fans a peek behind the curtain on how things changed.
During a recent appearance on “The Early Bird Special,” Green addressed the controversy around Hayes’ past comments about her on WWE: Unreal. Rather than staying upset, she said the whole situation gave her extra motivation to keep proving people wrong.
Green also spoke about why fans connect with her story. She explained that fans have watched her go through a longer road than most, and she understands why they call her an underdog, even though she feels far removed from that label at this point.
As for Hayes, Green made it clear there are no hard feelings left. She revealed he now hugs her backstage and is very supportive of her.
According to Green, what started as a controversy ended up being the kind of fuel she needed to keep pushing forward.
Booker T has a clear message for wrestlers who blame the writers when things go wrong, and that is, the writers are not the reason one keeps their job.
During a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T said he never once believed a writer could protect his spot on the roster. He said if your work is not at the right level, you are at risk of being released, plain and simple.
Booker T added that the only real luck a wrestler ever has is being prepared. He pointed to The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin as two examples, both of whom were let go by WCW before WWE saw their value and turned them into legends.
Booker T made a specific point about The Undertaker, saying the Dead Man gimmick only worked due to Undertaker’s in-ring ability was strong enough to carry it.
During a recent appearance on the “Between Two Jobs” podcast, former WWE NXT star Andre Chase revealed that his pandemic-era WWE tryout was unlike any other.
WWE executive Canyon Ceman told all ten participants they would be signed, so the tryout felt like a formality. However, only three people got contracts in the end, and Chase was one of them.
Chase said, “In my try, he was like, ‘Listen, we’re calling 10 guys. It’s a small try out.’ He was like, ‘Everybody’s getting signed. You just got to come do it.’ Like he told us that.”
“This tryout was cursed. So he told us everybody at the try. He was like, ‘You all are the group that we are going to sign. You just got like, you know, got to come to the trial and everything’s cool.’”
“But again, out of the 10 that they said, ‘Hey, you all are definitely getting hired,’ only three of us ended up getting hired. So, me, Anthony, Henry, and Blake Christian. It just for for a litany of different reasons, they were like, ‘You all you guys are getting signed.’ And then it just worked out to where it was only three of us.”
