Jey Uso heard the hate loud and clear after advancing to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, and now he is clapping right back.
After WWE’s YouTube upload of Jey beating Je’Von Evans got flooded with dislikes, Jey took to his Instagram Story and reacted to the backlash like he was not bothered at all, as he called his haters broke.
“Yall really love me now? Watch when I beat Oba. The more u hate on me, The more broke u stay”
The backlash started after Jey defeated Je’Von Evans on the June 19 edition of SmackDown to advance to the King of the Ring finals at Night of Champions. WWE then uploaded the clip to YouTube, and fans did not exactly rush to hit the like button.
At the time of writing, the video had 177.8K views, with only 6,598 likes compared to 21,809 dislikes. That puts the clip at 76.8% dislikes, which is a pretty rough reaction for someone heading into a major tournament final. A lot of fans were upset that WWE picked Jey over Evans, who many believed needed the breakout win more. One fan ripped the decision by saying:
“build new talent? nah, push the 40 year old alcoholic who can’t even do a neckbreaker bump properly 🗣️🗣️🗣️ THIS IS WHAT WE DO 🗣️🗣️🗣️”
Another fan made it clear they had no interest in seeing Jey move forward: “Nobody wanted one of the worst wrestlers in the company to advance.”One viewer even compared Jey’s main event run to Jinder Mahal’s WWE Championship reign.
“Jey Uso is the worst main eventer since Jinder was WWE champion, if he wasn’t Samoan he would have been fired years ago.”
Now Jey is set to face Oba Femi in the King of the Ring finals at Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh. The winner gets the crown and a world title shot at SummerSlam, so this is a major spot no matter how loud the backlash gets.
Jey clearly is not backing down from the noise. If anything, he seems ready to lean into it. Fans can dislike the video all they want, but Jey is already talking like he plans to beat Oba and make them even madder.

What do you think? Is Jey Uso right to fire back at the backlash, or should WWE have sent Je’Von Evans to the finals instead? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
