The Dodgers came into today riding a four-game winning streak, which they apparently decided was enough for now, as they took a non-scheduled day off in a 3-2 loss to the Orioles.
There wasn’t much of anything to say for most of the game, though they made it exciting in the 9th.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto wasn’t sharp, but he also basically got pretty unlucky, as a bunch of groundball and bloop hits setup all of the damage against him. Also Freddie Freeman made a questionable decision on defense, but … whatever.
Freddie takes the easy out so a run scores and the out is a bit awkward. Probably the right decision, though could argue with a guy like Yamamoto, taking the risk would’ve been valid. pic.twitter.com/8M5hQov7Cy

Not a lot that was dangerous, but it happens: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 102 Pitches
For the pen, Edgardo Henriquez, Alex Vesia, and Jonathan Hernandez all got scoreless outings.
——
It’s whatever because the offense got destroyed by the struggling Trevor Rogers, who carried a no-hitter into the 5th. He got through seven, and the Orioles used two relievers to secure a scoreless 8th.
At that point, they had two singles and two walks total, with one of the walks being cut down by a caught stealing.
They did try to rally in the 9th, as Shohei Ohtani faced a new reliever and hit a late solo shot to make it 3-1 Orioles.

Andy Pages then got robbed of a double on a diving play in the gap, and Freddie Freeman drew a walk to bring the tying run to the plate. The Orioles went to another and Mookie Betts continued the rally with an infield single, but Alex Freeland flew out to left for the second out. Tommy Edman then seemed to line out to Leodys Tavares in right to end the game, but he dropped it to score another run and it was 3-2 Orioles.

With the tying run on third and the winning run on first, Kyle Tucker saw four splits down and out of the zone. He swung at three of them.
