2026 World Cup – New Zealand vs Egypt line-ups confirmed as Salah starts

New Zealand and Egypt face off in a pivotal Group G encounter at BC Place in Vancouver, with both sides looking to claim their first win of the 2026 World Cup.

All four teams in Group G sat level on one point after a fascinating opening round, and with Iran and Belgium drawing a win would be massive for either side.

The All Whites earned a spirited 2-2 draw against Iran, twice taking the lead via Elijah Just before being pegged back. Meanwhile, Egypt fought hard to secure an impressive 1-1 draw against Belgium in Seattle, courtesy of an Emam Ashour strike.

With qualification for the Round of 32 firmly on the line, a victory for either side in Vancouver would put them on the brink of history.

Here’s how the sides line up.
