In a fast-evolving field like e-bikes, how do you stay ahead when it comes to technology and design? By staying obsessively focused on innovation and performance, as Aventon has been since the brand was born in a Cal State Long Beach dorm room.
The proof is in Aventon’s new Level 4 REC and mid-drive Level 4 ADV. They mark a new stage of commuter e-bike evolution from a company that’s been pioneering the category since the Level line debuted in 2020.
Both new models share a best-in-class technical foundation. That includes Aventon’s ACU connectivity suite, which provides GPS tracking, over-the-air updates, and integrated security features including password-protected display and built-in rear wheel lock. Aventon’s Ride Tune feature allows personalized power profiles, while the A280 Customizable Center Display provides ride metrics tailored to individual preferences.

Aventon places this advanced technology in stylish aluminum step-through and step-over frames with commuter-tuned geometry and hydraulic disc brakes. Riding on 27.5-inch wheels and 2.2-inch rubber, the Level 4 e-bikes are at home on city streets, bike paths, and mixed terrain. With integrated racks, fenders, and lighting, they’re ready for everything, from daily commutes to weekend adventures.
And then there are the all-important drivetrains. The Level 4 REC is powered by a nominal 750-watt hub motor delivering 1,440-watt peaks for strong acceleration in city traffic, and up to 75 miles of range. The new regenerative braking technology offers the best in energy recovery. Paired with a Shimano Altus derailleur and 8-speed cassette, the Level 4 REC combines capability and refined performance for riders who value simplicity, confidence, and everyday utility (also available in a step-through model). The Level 4 REC provides Class 2 performance (20 mph with throttle and pedal assist) and is convertible to Class 3 (28 mph pedal assist).

The drivetrain for the premium Level 4 ADV lifts commuter e-bike evolution to new heights with a first-in-class mid-drive motor. In contrast to direct-drive e-bikes, in which the motor is built into the rear wheel and consequently has only one gear ratio, a mid-drive’s electric assist transfers power the same way your legs do—through the chain and gears.
On the Level 4 ADV, that results in an eye-watering 100Nm of torque from Aventon’s all-new 250-watt Ultro S mid-drive motor (plus whatever leg power you care to contribute, up to 750-watt peaks), all of it flowing through a Shimano CUES 10-speed drivetrain. Aventon’s E-Shifter makes finding the optimal gear as simple as pressing a button or, if you prefer, the AutoShift technology will choose the best gear based on your cadence and speed. The mid-drive configuration lets you rip the flats and fly up the hills or simply make the most efficient use of power in every situation, providing up to 110 miles from the 800 watt-hour battery.

Aventon packs all this leading-edge technology into a commuter-focused aluminum frame, available in two step-through sizes and three step-over sizes. The e-bike can be configured for Class 1 (20 mph) or Class 3 (28 mph) pedal assist, with optional throttle control. Loaded with ACU tech and the A280 monitor, plus racks, fenders, and onboard lighting, the package weighs in at 61 pounds—positively svelte for such a capable e-bike.
Aventon Bikes is here to inspire adventures, both big and small, in all terrains of life. No matter what we look like now, a year from now, or a decade from now, this is what keeps us moving forward. Redefine adventure and learn more at aventon.com.
