France booked their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup courtesy of a 3-0 win over Iraq on Monday night.

Kylian Mbappe netted twice and Ousmane Dembele was also on target in Philadelphia, although the match was delayed by around two hours at half-time due to adverse weather in the region.

France’s final group stage game will see them face Norway, who have also won both of their opening two matches and already qualified for the last 32.

In the meantime, though, reports from France are claiming that one member of Didier Deschamps’ squad could be interested in a move to a huge Premier League club.

As reported by French outlet Le10Sport, via TEAMtalk, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is interested in the prospect of a move to Liverpool this summer.

The report claims that the Reds initially tried to sign Barcola last summer, following their Premier League triumph.

Liverpool failed in those efforts, but did spent more than £400 million on the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.

Now, though, the Merseyside outfit are said to have reignited their interest in Barcola, who joined PSG from fellow Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2023.

Since then, the 23-year-old has scored 39 goals and provided 37 assists in 152 games for the French giants, as well as winning 12 trophies including three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions Leagues.

Barcola himself is said to be interested in the idea of joining Liverpool and playing in the Premier League, although it isn’t currently clear whether or not an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

The winger is contracted to PSG until the end of the 2027/28 season, but last term he started just 21 of their 34 Ligue 1 matches and it appears that he is keen to depart the French capital.
