Ever since the news of a possible Aaron Donald return to the Los Angeles Rams broke, players and people involved with the team have been dreaming big. Among them was JJ Watt, who shared his true feelings about a potential Donald-Myles Garrett pairing in an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
“Aaron Donald is one of the greatest players in the history of the game,” Watt said. “What are you gonna do if him and Myles Garrett are on the same field together? I can completely understand why he would be considering playing”
If they both play and stay healthy, the Rams could have a defense that scares every opposing quarterback.
The Rams defense has a shot to be great
Even if the Rams don’t add Donald back to the fold, they should still present major problems for opponents.
Safety Kam Curl said the team has a great chance to be exceptional, according to Up & Adams via NFL.com.
“Right now it’s early. It’s only what, June, but I feel like we’ve got a chance to be legendary,” Curl said Thursday on Up & Adams. “Just the type of guys we got, the coaches we got, we’ve got a bunch of experience back there. We’ve got some Super Bowl winners in there, we’ve got some Defensive Player of the Years. We’ve got some guys that, if we do what we’ve got to do, we can be one of the best.”
Head coach Sean McVay said the Rams won’t try to get ahead of themselves, according to Fox Sports.
“It’s one day at a time, and I love everything that he said because I couldn’t be more in agreement,” McVay said. “We’re not going to let the outside narratives affect our ability to be courageous every single day and go swing and see what the hell happens.”
Things are looking good for the Rams in 2026. But it’s still only June.
