The rich get richer; the fast get faster. As a case in point, Vision’s Metron wheels were already the most popular in pro cycling when the Italian brand released the Metron RS series in 2025.
Metron is billed as Vision’s ‘fastest, most aerodynamic product line’, where the height of technological innovation is pursued to save every possible gram and watt. The Metron RS line – RS stands for Racing Series – took things even further, swapping steel spokes for carbon and improving aerodynamics by up to 9% and weight by 7% over the previous top-end Metron SL without sacrificing the SL’s stability and handling characteristics.
Understandably Vision calls RS ‘the most advanced product available’ in its range.
But while pro riders from EF Education-EasyPost, Bahrain Victorious and XDS Astana rode Vision Metron RS wheels to five impressive stage wins, two top tens in the general classification and the white jersey at this year’s Giro d’Italia alone, Vision has actually created an even more exclusive, limited edition wheelset that the pros can’t use – but you can.
Enter Vision Metron RS CS Silver Edition, a one-off special that won’t be reproduced and represents the highest technological and aesthetic level of the Metron RS platform.
Silver springs
What sets the Silver Edition apart? While almost all the same technical features of the regular Metron RS wheels are here – tubeless-ready carbon rims designed for tyres 28mm and wider, a Centerlock disc rotor mount, aero-bladed straight-pull carbon spokes with a 2:1 lacing pattern, new lightweight V-1000 hub with 72T PRS technology and a 5° engagement angle and in-mould graphics – there are two areas where the Silver wheels stand out.
The first clue is in the name; they have a silver finish on the rim details as well as one-off silver hubs, an aesthetic uplift that sets the Metron RS CS Silver Edition wheelset apart as one of Vision’s most exclusive products. Just 150 Silver edition wheelsets are available in the EU, they’ll only be sold aftermarket and even the professionals won’t be riding them (unless they buy the wheels themselves). These are the best of the best, and the silver touches are a demonstration of that.
CeramicSpeed meets hyperspeed
As well as the exterior touches, Vision has also partnered with CeramicSpeed to fit the Silver Edition wheels with ceramic bearings specifically produced for optimal fit and performance with the V-1000 hubs that are exclusive to these wheels.
With Metron RS wheels hand-assembled in Italy, the bearings being hand-built in Denmark adds an extra artisanal touch that fits with Vision’s ethos. Not only that, CeramicSpeed’s combination of ultra-smooth silicon-nitride balls with micron-level tolerances, hardened steel raceways with ultra-polished grooves, a reinforced polyamide cage for stability under load, non-contact seals to minimise friction without reducing protection from dirt, and the brand’s own low viscosity All-Round Grease delivers low friction, greater efficiency and more direct power transfer to get the most out of every pedal stroke. It also adds to the durability of the bearings, and CeramicSpeed underpins that durability further with a four-year warranty.
Silver specs
The Vision Metron RS CS Silver Edition wheels are available exclusively in 45mm and 60mm rim depths. The 45mm rims have a 23mm internal and 31.1mm external width, and weigh 1,290g per pair, while the 60mm rims measure 23mm internally and 33mm externally, and weigh 1,390g per pair.
All that comes in at a price of £3,099.99 and £3,199.99 for the 45 and 60 respectively.
