DAVENPORT, Iowa — Friday was a beautiful night for racing at the Davenport Speedway. One hundred and seven cars were on hand. Despite the car count, flagman Bart Montgomery was able to keep the caution flag holstered much of the evening. Three features went completely caution-free.
The Outhouse / Storage to Go – IMCA Late Models saw their fifth different winner of the season. Bryce Garnhart added his name to the list of winners in the 2026 season. Bryce had to work for the victory. After starting in the fifth position, he had to drove around early race leader Jayden Johnson. Garnhart’s lead would be short lived. A few laps later Mitch Morris found the lead to his liking.
Before long, it was a 3-way battle for the lead with Garnhart, Morris, and Andy Nezworski duking it out. Garnhart would wear the competition out and take the win by 0.603 seconds over Nezworski. Morris took third, followed by Travis Denning and Logan Veloz.
Johnson, Veloz, and Chuck Hanna were heat winners. Late Models are the only class without a repeat winner at Davenport this season.
The Midwest Recyclers / Del’s Metal Co. – IMCA Modifieds also saw a first-time winner for 2026. Brandon Durbin took home the Modified feature trophy. Durbin started outside front row and without any cautions, was able to hold off all challenges. A fierce battle for second went on for most of the twenty laps between Kyle Montgomery, Spencer Diercks, and Shane Paris. Paris would nail down the runner-up spot followed by Diercks and Montgomery. Matt Werner rounded out the top five.
Tony VonDresky finally posted a win in the Koehler Electric – Street Stocks. Tony led all fifteen laps en route to the victory. Cary Brown had a solid run to second. Greg Gill finished third, over Jesse Owen and Austin Riggs. Only six of the starters made it to the checkered flag.
Bryson Eckrich posted his second Freds Towing / Cantrell Towing / QC Towing – IMCA SportMods win of the year at Davenport. Bryson led only the last two laps of the race, after starting in the 15th position. Cody Weih and Mike Adam battled for the lead throughout the first ten laps. Scott Walker got into the mix and led lap 13. Eckrich took over on the following lap and drove to the win. Walker finished second, ahead of Adam. Cole Stichter and Tyler Maschmann completed the first five.
Keegan Wells scored his first D & K Home Products – IMCA Stock Car win on Friday. Although Wells started on the pole the victory was not an easy one. Most of the race he was locked in a brawl with Jordan Miles and David Brandies. All three drivers led laps during the main. Brandies would come away with second place. Jordan Miles took third, ahead of Greg Gill and Kodey Miles.
The Wangelin’s Auto – IMCA Hobby Stocks also ran their feature caution-free. Karter Miles landed his fourth feature win of the season at Davenport. Miles started tenth, but had worked his way into the lead by lap five. Carson Butt would give chase late in the race, but would finish more than a second behind the winner. Brett Timmerman. Randy LaMar, and Christian Jordan finished third through fifth in that order.
