Veteran guard De’Anthony Melton is expected to move on from the Golden State Warriors this offseason as he prepares to enter free agency, according to reports.
Melton is widely expected to decline his $3.45 million player option after playing last season on a minimum contract, allowing him to explore opportunities on the open market.
While a return to Golden State has not been ruled out, league sources believe he is likely to sign elsewhere.
The 28-year-old enjoyed one of the best offensive seasons of his career in 2025-26, taking on a larger role because of injuries throughout the Warriors’ roster.
He averaged career highs of 12.3 points while adding 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals over 49 games, including 24 starts.
Although Melton finished efficiently inside the arc and was reliable from the free-throw line, his three-point shooting dipped to 29.4 percent after entering the season as a career 38.3 percent shooter from long range over the previous five years.
