Sami Zayn didn’t waste much time getting his first WWE Champion follow-up locked in.
During the 2026 NXT Great American Bash Premium Live Event on June 28, commentators Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett brought up Zayn capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions. Barrett then pointed fans toward SmackDown, making it clear he wants to hear what Zayn has to say next.
Barrett, who calls SmackDown alongside Joe Tessitore, said he can’t wait to hear from Zayn on the July 3 episode of SmackDown.
That makes Zayn’s upcoming SmackDown appearance a big one. He just pulled off a major title win at Night of Champions, and now fans are waiting to see how WWE handles him as champion.
The July 3 episode of SmackDown is set to be taped on June 29 while WWE is in Atlantic City, New Jersey. That means fans probably won’t have to wait long before spoilers start making the rounds.
